* How many athletes does the firm work with? How does the firm select its clients?
* Who are the agent’s other clients? What do other athletes with whom the firm works say about the service they have received? What has the firm accomplished for its clients in the past?
* How does the firm bill and what is billed? What are the costs of the relationship? Are there alternatives to the traditional percentage of contract charge? When are fees due to be paid?
* Who are the people managing the firm? Who will be involved in the athlete’s management? In what capacity will they be involved?
* What present and future oriented services does the firm provide for the athletes career & post-career? What services are offered other than contract negotiations?
When making any important life decision, you must be informed. You wouldn't buy a car without comparing other dealer’s prices and checking the mechanics of the vehicle. When choosing a management group, you should do no less. Finally, ask yourself, do you want the biggest with minimal contact that care solely about their bottom line or personalized attention from a group of experienced professionals who share your common goals?
